Mickey and the stairs

Mickey was uncoordinated and would walk zigzag which meant that he would have to be closely monitored so that he would not bump into passers by.  In order to improve his co ordination visits to the park were done weekly, having space meant that he could freely run around.

During this activity Michael would be encouraged to engage in football and ball activities as this type of activity dealt with space. Walking up and down stairs was very effective as he learnt how to manoeuvre during a limited space. This has had a positive impact when travelling through crowds as he can now walk independently.
